Intelligently turns off underutilized ATMs * Reduces energy consumption * Increases device life span During periods of low ATM transaction activity, some ATMs located in multiple ATM sites will not be utilized. In some cases there are ATMs that are not accessible for a period of time because they are located in buildings that are closed for part of the day. Depending on a number of conditions, GreenStar will shut down these underused ATMs until activity warrants that they should be turned back on. Only ATMs that can be shut down for at least three consecutive hours during the day will be targeted by GreenStar. Shutting down ATMs reduces energy usage, reduces maintenance costs and increases ATM longevity. GreenStar maintains one year of hourly transaction history for every site and for every ATM. An analysis of transaction history will reveal that there are several hours during the day when some sites only process a few transactions. If the site's current transaction levels are in line with their historic transaction levels, GreenStar can shut down one or more ATMs without impacting customers. Naturally GreenStar is sensitive to special conditions, user overrides, and operational schedules to ensure that selected ATMs are not shut down during maintenance activity or if a problem is detected. The results of constructed rules are presented on the Harmony dashboard. The dashboard highlights those ATMs experiencing reduced usage thereby permitting immediate corrective action.
